She was born October 29, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Ray L. Sargent, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Graves) Sargent. She was educated in the Muskogee public schools, attending Whittier Elementary School and Alice Robertson Junior High School before graduating from Central High School of Muskogee in 1946. Following the completion of her high school education, she married William Robert Eversole Jr. in 1946 and they enjoyed a happy marriage of forty-eight years before his death in 1994. They had three children, one son and two daughters, from their marriage. In March 1963 the family moved to Shawnee, where Mrs. Eversole resided for fifty-two years.
She devoted her life to her family. She was a full-time homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She encouraged her children to apply themselves to their school studies and she tutored them when needed. She was always there for them.
Religion was an important part of her life and she attended Sunday School and morning worship services each Sunday with her family at First Christian Church of Muskogee before March 1963. In Shawnee, she and her husband were among the founding members of the Shawnee Christian Church. In addition to her many other activities, she worked for the Pottawatomie County Election Board for twenty-eight years, first as a clerk and then as an inspector of elections for a precinct. She devoted a great deal of attention to detail for each election to assure that everything was performed legally and correctly. For many years the precinct elections were held in her home and then subsequently at a local church.
Mrs. Eversole was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Ray Sargent, Jr., and her sisters: Ramona Sargent Baker and Shirley Sargent Hall.
She is survived by her sister Myrna Sargent Jepsen and her brother-in-law Robert Jepsen of Colorado; her son Robert W. Eversole and his wife Phyllis Eversole of California; daughter Janet Elizabeth Eversole Moss and her husband Dennis Moss of Texas; daughter Nancy Diana Eversole of New Mexico; granddaughter Shelly Elizabeth Moss Lally and her husband Steve Lally of Texas; granddaughter Trisa Annette Moss of Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces.
