Ruby Iris Ott

Norman resident, Ruby Iris Ott, 90, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in Norman. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Kresten Norholm officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Ruby Iris Ott was born March 9, 1925 in Newalla, Oklahoma to William and Tabatha (Geyer) Childers. She attended Pleasant Hill School. On August 23, 1947 she married Jesse Lee Ott Sr. She had worked at Douglas during the war, Harps, Shawnee Sample Cut, and a gardener and homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter: Mary Sue Hodges, a granddaughter: Buena Ott, 2 sisters: Lillie Ledford and Mary Geyer, 4 brothers: William, Leavern, Paris, and Jimmy Childers. Ruby is survived by: 4 Children: Virginia Goodin of Mustang, Don Ott of Ripley, Aljnita Pitt and husband Kenny of Norman, and Jesse Ott Jr. of Lexington; 9 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 3 Sisters: Julia Richards of Shawnee, Reva Fallin of Shawnee, Deloris Birkicht and husband George of OKC; A brother-in-law: Dale Ledford of Shawnee; and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
