Chester Ira Johnston

Chester Ira Johnston was born March 30, 1926, in Atoka, OK. On July 4, at his home in Colorado Springs, Colonel Johnston, USAF, (Ret.) went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to be reunited with his wife of 67 years, Doris Lynam Johnston, who preceded him in death by three years. Chester is survived by his son Stanley (Pamela) Johnston and daughter Judy Kiesel and by grandsons Matthew Johnston, Jonathan Johnston, and Jeffrey Kiesel, great-grandchildren Miles and Alexis Johnston, sister Florence Burns, brothers Karl Kenneth and John Wesley Johnston. Visitation will be July 14 at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family will be at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to visit with friends and family. Funeral Service 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 15, Walker Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery with USAF Military Honors. All are invited to a reception at St Marks Methodist Church after burial. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 10:00AM, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Central United Methodist Church, 4373 Galley Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80915, with a luncheon afterward. PLEASE DO NOT SEND FLOWERS OR PLANTS. The family requests that donations be given in Chester’s memory to the Springs Rescue Mission, Central United Methodist Church, or Salvation Army.
