Shawnee resident Anthony “Boots” Lasley, 83, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 in a local nursing home.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Mark Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. to visit with family and friends.
Boots was born September 9, 1931 in Watova, Oklahoma to Estelle (Jones) and Oscar Lasley, and adopted by Virgil & Edna Connell. He was a member of the Shawnee High School Class of 1955, and served with the United States Air Force.
Boots was a partner with Shawnee Sale Barn, hauled hogs for James Sausage, and commercial livestock hauling.
On March 5, 1966 he married Joyce L. Stearman in Meeker, Oklahoma.
He was a member and past President of the Shawnee Roundup Club, a member of the Sac & Fox Nation, and enjoyed farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Charles, Melford, James and Gene; and 2 sisters: Elizabeth and Mary.
Boots is survived by his wife, Joyce Lasley, of the home; 2 Daughters: Shalah Lasley of Conroe, TX and Tammy Rodgers of Broken Arrow, OK; Grandchildren: Sharla Crawford and Zack Rodgers; Sister: Valerie Lasley; Brothers-in-Law & Spouses: Doyle & Claudia Stearman, Herschel & Barbara Stearman; Numerous Nieces and Nephews; and a former Sister-in-Law: Sylvia Weedman.
