Barbara "Granny" Ann Moreland

Barbara Ann "Granny" Moreland was born on August 2, 1934, in Wiley, Colorado, and departed this life on Sunday, September 6, 2015, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. Barbara, the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Phelps) Oswald, was a resident of Shawnee. Barbara was married February 5, 1951 in Raton, Mexico to Joel Clayton (JC or Hook) Moreland who preceded her in death on February 14, 1996. Barbara was a hard worker and would do anything to help others. She worked at the Sylvania Plant in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Western Electric in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma then at Moreland's Salvage which she and JC established. She attended South Rock Creek Independent Full Gospel Church for many years. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Roger Lee Oswald, Michael Tee Moreland and James Clayton Moreland, Great, Great Grandson Righteous Oswald, two . brothers, Kenneth and Huel Oswald. Two sisters, Betty Bensko and Mildred Christine Oswald. She leaves behind two daughters, Teresa and Curt McPherson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Rhonda and Guy Cagle, Shawnee, Oklahoma. 14 Grandchildren 21 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren Siblings, Jerry Oswald, Lamar, Colorado, Elsie Moulder, Wiley, Colorado, Ina and Ed Groomer, Wiley, Colorado, Pat and Al Lamborn, Wichita, Kansas, Robert "Bob" and Jan Oswald, Bums, Oregon, and Ruth and Lou Neapolitan, Page, Arizona. Several nieces; nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Tecumseh Cemetery.
