Mary Atwood

Mary Atwood, 63,of Shawnee, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at her home. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Mary was born February 22, 1952 in Berwyn, Illinois to C.W. and Betty Hinckle. She graduated from high school in Ft. Madison, Iowa. In 1974 she married Joseph Thomas Atwood in Lexington, Missouri. She was owner and operator of Propane Services, Inc. for over 31 years. She was active in Shawnee Little Theatre, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, and the Mabee-Gerrer Museum. Mary was preceded in death by her parents (C.W. & Betty Hinckle), and her husband (J. Thomas Atwood). She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Oliver; her son, Nicholas Atwood; sisters, Patti Benton & Jenni Simpson; brother, Christian Hinckle; grandchildren, Wyatt Oliver, Ashlyn Oliver, Cadence Oliver, Kaitlyn Atwood, Carson Atwood, and Owen Oliver; son-in-law, Russ Oliver; and sister-in-law, Carla Forster.
