Rhoper A. Bly, Jr., 87, of Shawnee, passed away Tuesday, October 27 at his home.
He was born March 27, 1928 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Rhoper & Rosa Bly, and graduated in 1945 from Dale High School. On December 24, 1945 he married Jimmie Lou Robertson. She preceded him in death on September 1.
Rhoper was the foreman of the Plant Maintenance Branch at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring in 1983 after 35 years of service. He was a Community Service Advocate, and had been the secretary/treasurer of the Dale Cemetery Association since 1977.
He was preceded in death by: His wife, Jimmie; his parents, Rhoper & Rosa Lee Bly; brother, Billy Bly; and a sister, Molly Veary.
He is survived by two daughters: Rita Aragon of Edmond, and Connie Jenkins and her husband Fred of Shawnee; three granddaughters: Christa Ketcher of Shawnee, Dana Cortez of Okla. City, and Maggie Smith of Dale; great-grandchildren: William Warrick, Austin Ketcher, Shelby Cortez, and Gregory & Lucas Smith; sisters: Bonnie Reding and Amy Stith; and a brother: Robert Bly.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
