Ruth Adele Guin, 96, of Shawnee, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 in a local nursing home.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Dwyane Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Ruth was born August 23, 1919 in Billings, Oklahoma to Lawrence B. & Edna L. (Oliver) Aylor. She was a 1936 graduate of Prairie Valley High School, and attended Cheatham’s Business College from 1937 – 1939. From 1940-1949 Ruth was a bookkeeper for Barrett Drilling Co., and from 1949 – 1994 she and her husband, Herman, owned and operated Guin’s Jewelry.
On April 19, 1947 she married Herman R. Guin, and they were married for 65 years.
During her school years she was on the High School National Honor Society for 4 years and was High School Senior Class Valedictorian.
She was a member of the Business & Professional Women’s Foundation, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a faithful member of the Central Church of Christ for over 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Guin; parents: Lawrence & Edna Aylor; sisters: Wilma Cox, Doris Elick, June Hart; brother: Charles Aylor; and daughter-in-law: Karla Guin.
She is survived by her Brother & Sister-in-Law: John & Beverly Aylor; Son: Steven Guin; Grandchildren: John Guin, Stefani Burton, Callie Rush and her husband Tanner; Eight Great-Grandchildren; and a Brother-in-Law: Bill Hart.
