Billie “Sue” (Snider) Herrin, 74, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died Friday, December 25, 2015 at her home. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Eric Wayne Wilburn, Sue’s nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will be gathering to meet with friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Sue was born December 7, 1941 in Ti Valley, OK to George Mitchell and Dora D (Ritter) Snider. Moved to Texas as an infant and the family moved to Shawnee when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1960, and attended OBU for 2 years, but continued to work in the family owned restaurants, The Wide Awake Café, Town Talk Café, and The Grand Café. She met the love of her life on April 21, 1963 at The Grand Café. She told her brother-in-law Bob, that the dark good looking boy in the first booth would be her husband. Seven days later they eloped to Durant, OK, and were best friends for 52 ½ years. She worked in maintaining the family cafes, and as a LIHEAP and ECAP worker for DHS from 1997 to 2003. She loved going to the lake and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Lou McGowan; brother-in-law, Bob McGowan; brother, George Dale Snider; sister-in-law, Pat Snider, and her infant twins, Dana Doreen and Billy Mitchell. Sue is survived by her husband, her one true love, Billy Hayes Herrin; her daughter, Susan Rena Herrin and her fiancé, Darold Michael Madden; her son, Michael Ray Herrin-Ross and his husband, Kevin Shane Herrin-Ross; foster grandson, Daniel Gene Rogers; sister-in-law: Roberta Wright and husband, Don Wright; brothers-in-law, Raymond Herrin, Jerry Tilley & wife, Glenda; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and several cousins from the Snider side.
