David Ray Rice

David Ray Rice went to his heavenly home on December 27, 2015. He was born to Henry and Marie Rice in Colbert, Oklahoma on January 30, 1933. David graduated from Guthrie High School, and attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College on a football scholarship. March 7, 1953, David enlisted in the Air Force where he was stationed in Miko, Japan for 2 years. After his 4 year stint with the Air Force he returned home where he met the love of his life, Mickey Horton. They were married September 22, 1956. David was employed by Gilt Edge Dairy as a Retail Route Salesman in 1957 and worked his way up to Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Gilt Edge/Hiland Dairy during a 46 year career with the company. David & Mickey celebrated 59 wonderful years of marriage in September with their four children, Randal Ray Rice of Okla. City, Robin Raylene Finley (Mark), of Shawnee, Marc Ywain Rice of Okla. City, and Stephen Paul (Melissa) Rice of Shawnee. Three grandchildren, Ryan Rice of Austin, TX, Caleb & Hailey Rice, of Shawnee. David was dedicated to his family and church. He was cited with an award in June of 2000 for 26 years of service as church clerk for Oak Park Church of God. David was preceded in death by his mother and father, and a younger brother, Terry Rice. A celebration of his life will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
