Marvin Wayne Jordan

December 7, 1931 — December 24, 2015

MARVIN WAYNE JORDAN passed peacefully the morning of Christmas eve in Raleigh, NC where he lived with son Randy Wayne Jordan the last five years. He will be laid to rest next to his mother Zuma Pansy Hibbard Dec. 30th at Fairview Cemetery, in his birthplace, Shawnee Oklahoma. Marvin was preceded in death by his Mother Zuma Hibbard (Shawnee), his father Joel Dixon Jordan (OKC) and by his beloved Uncle “Ran” and Aunt Lillian Wood, and Auntie Bertha Long (all of Shawnee) He is survived by his wife Caroline U. Jordan (Sulphur Springs, TX) His son Randy Wayne Jordan and wife Mary (Raleigh, NC), step-daughter Leighanne Watkins (Weatherford, TX). Marvin’s surviving grandchildren are Mrs. Lael Hobbs and her husband David, Abigail Jordan, and Gabriel Jordan and wife Jessica (all of Raleigh, NC) and Brianna Farr and Cody Watkins (Weatherford, TX). Marvin has 2 great grandsons Asher and Jonas Jordan (Raleigh, NC) Also surviving Marvin are his siblings, brother John Jordan and his wife Barbara (Naples, FL), and 2 sisters, Joann Coomer and her husband Herschel (Shawnee, OK) and Jerrie Haggy and her husband Tom (OKC). Other area survivors include niece Lisa Coomer (Shawnee), and nephews Ronnie Coomer (Norman), Brett Austin (OKC) and Chet Austin (OKC). Marvin was raised in Shawnee and graduated Shawnee High School. Marvin worked as a machinist, a gunsmith, and in oilfields in his early years. He helped build a very successful retail used car business in Shawnee, before relocating to Dallas, TX where he also owned and ran car business most of his life. He lived and worked hard, cried softly, dreamed big, laughed much, gave generously, and loved large. Marvin will be greatly missed by family and friends as he leaves a legacy of serving and being an incredible help to those who had the privilege of calling him relative or friend. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30 at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
