Jackie (Jack) Phil Copeland, 83, of Macomb, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully January 2, 2016 at Belfair of Shawnee, Oklahoma. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Romulus Baptist Church. Sergio Browning and Tony Black will be officiating. Burial will be at Romulus Cemetery.
Jack was born Sept 17, 1932 to William O. and Mabel Puckett Copeland. He was a twin to Jim Copeland. They were born at home in the Anderson community.
Jack went to a "one room school house" in Anderson and later went to Macomb school up through the 8th grade and later he acquired his GED.
He enlisted into the Army February 13, 1953 and was Honorably Discharged December 4, 1953.
He married Ellen Marie Lovelace Dec. 20, 1957 in Maud, Oklahoma. He purchased 80 acres in the community of Romulus to raise his family. He worked at a company named "Johnco" in Shawnee then later became a sheet metal mechanic at Tinker and retired in 1989.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lila Barnes.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen of the home; two brothers, Jim Copeland of Oklahoma City and Charles Copeland and his wife Ramona of Shawnee; two daughters and their spouses, Jacqulyn Little and her husband Tom of Tecumseh and Linda Weiss and her husband David of Macomb.
Four Grandchildren and their spouses; Rebecca Little Adkins and her husband Michael of Moore, Steven Little and his wife Hannah of Shawnee, Jonathan Weiss and his wife Mackinzie of Gainesville, Florida, Andrew Weiss and his wife Jordan of Paoli, Ok.
One adopted granddaughter, Mary Hargus Scott and her husband Jared of Missouri.
Four Great Grandchildren: Isaac Little, Carson Weiss, Paisley Adkins and Jack Little.
And a host of nephews and nieces.
