Judith Eileen "Judi" Forslund

Judi Forslund was called to be with her Father in Heaven on Thursday, 14 January 2016. She was born Judith Eileen Negri on 21 February 1953, at the Divine Infant Hospital in Wakefield, MI. She was the 3rd child of John D. Negri and Patricia J. (Hemkes) Negri. She attended school in Wakefield and later graduated in June 1971 from the Luther L. Wright High School, Ironwood, MI. Upon her graduation, she began her education in Cosmetology at the Duluth (MN) Academy of Hair Design, graduating in 1972. She received her original License in MN and subsequently held Licenses in MI, IL, IN, AR, OK and TN. She worked in numerous salons and owned/operated salons in MI, IL, IN, AR and OK. She and her family moved to Shawnee, OK, in January 1994. At the time of her death, she owned and operated the LaBella Salon in Shawnee. On 10 February 1973 she was married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ironwood, MI to Phillip C. (Phil) Forslund. This February, they would have celebrated their 43rd Anniversary. She loved spending time with her family - especially her children; cooking (especially Italian); singing in the Church Choir; the company of her Bichon, Ricco; and serving her clients - her friends. Also, she cherished the memories from a 2013 trip to Northern Italy where she had the chance to meet all of her father's relatives who still reside there. She is survived by her husband, Phil, Shawnee, OK; daughter, Alicia D. (Keith) Miller and son Benjamin R. Forslund, who all reside in Yukon, OK; her mother, Patricia Jacobson, Minocqua, WI; brother John C. Negri, Flint, MI; sister Jayne A. Negri, Nashville, TN; mother-in-law, Vienna Forslund, Ironwood, MI; sisters-in law Dianne (Mark) Fiebrink, Naples, FL and Judy (Mark) Bledsoe, Aberdeen, SD; brothers-in law Jim Forslund, Tempe, AZ and Chris (Brenda) Forslund, Green Bay, WI; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives throughout the US and in Italy; and many, many friends all over the US. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Negri and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hemkes; her father, John D. Negri; step-father, Clyde "Jake" Jacobson; father-in-law, Clarence B. Forslund; sister-in-law Carol (Kehoe) Negri as well as numerous other relatives. Funeral services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Shawnee, OK, and McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, Ironwood, MI. In Shawnee, visitation will be at Walker Funeral Service on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the Services held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Shawnee on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Her body will be taken to Michigan for another service to be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ironwood, Michigan on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation held at the church on Tuesday evening from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Interment will be at Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood, Michigan.
