George Charles “Bud” Cash, 8, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at his home. The family will be at Walker Funeral Service from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday to receive friends. Services will be 3:30 P.M. Monday, February 22, 2016 at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Richard Zimmer and Danny Napier. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery George Charles “Bud” Cash was born May 4, 1930 in Laverne, Oklahoma to Ernest M. and Hattie Faye (Rush) Cash. He graduated from Laverne High School in 1948. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Frances Allene Osborne and they were married December 27, 1951 in Randolph County, Wedowee, AL. After his honorable discharge from the Army, while visiting his older sister in Kansas, he got the job that would begin his career in the Oil and Gas industry. This career would take him and his growing family from Kansas to Colorado, back to Kansas and back to Oklahoma, Alaska, Louisiana, and Wyoming where they lived until retirement in 1996. After retiring he and Allene returned to Laverne where for several years they enjoyed camping trips with the Short Grass Sam’s Camping Club. Eventually moving to Shawnee in 2007 to join family here. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Allene, his parents, 2 sons: Charles Phillips and Ronald Wayne, 2 sisters: Delores and Juanella, 1 brother: Raymond, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Survivors include: Son: Stephen Cash of Shawnee, Daughter: Reta Ortega of Colorado, Daughter in law: Chris Cash of Shawnee, Grandchildren: Kristy Wollam, Charles and Kim Cash of Shawnee, Sharon and Eric Laubach of Colorado, Nicole Wilcox of Nevada, Jessica and Justin Rodriguez of Wyoming, Russell Tyler of Colorado, 13 Great-Grandchildren, And countless other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
