L. "Keith" Jones

L. "Keith" Jones, 85, of Shawnee, OK died Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Shawnee, Ok. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Entombment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum. L. “Keith” Jones was born July 6, 1930 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to C.C. “Jelly” Jones and Lucy Lee (Wyant) Jones. He attended Shawnee schools. On May 1, 1948 he married Marjorie Jean (Smith) in Shawnee. They were married 58 years. Mr. Jones owned and operated dairy farms from 1950 to 1988 when he switched to raising Longhorn cattle and ranching. He was active in local farm and community organizations and was a board member of both the Oklahoma and the Southern United States Regional Associated Milk Producers, Inc. In 1979 he was presented the Farmer/Rancher of the Year Award by the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Task Force. Mr. Jones had also served on the South Rock Creek School Board. In addition, since January of 1992, Keith had been a cherished member of a world-wide fellowship devoted to helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 1 brother: Clayton Jones. He is survived by 3 Children: Johnny Jones of Wewoka, Cathy Mayes and husband Michael of Shawnee, Chuck Jones and wife Marilyn of Shawnee, 6 Grandchildren: Angie Reed, Missie Jones-Jackson and husband Todd, Charilyn Milburn and husband Joe Ray, Stephen Brodine, Aaron Brodine, John-Chuck “Goober” Jones and wife Natasha, 3 Step-Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Brother: Russell Jones of Guthrie, 1 Sister-in-law: Jackie Jones of Shawnee, And numerous other family members and friends.
