Ed Spears, 75, of Shawnee, Oklahoma died Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee.
Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Immanuel Baptist Church.
Edward “Ed” Pat Spears was born December 25, 1940 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Nelson “Pat” Alexander Spears and Ruby Jewel (Williams) Spears. He graduated from Wilson High School in Wilson, Oklahoma and later from Phillips University in Enid. He married Mary (Doty) on July 24, 1964 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He worked as a District Safety Inspector for Oklahoma Natural Gas for over 30 years until his retirement. Ed was an accomplished artist whose work appeared in galleries and art shows across the southwestern United States. Ed’s artwork can be found in hundreds of homes and businesses throughout Oklahoma. One of his passions was volunteering, whether it be providing meals at his church for all types of events or helping with meals for the families mourning the loss of a loved one or preparing sack lunches for youth in the community during the summer. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling, however his fondest memories came from the times he spent with his greatest treasures who were his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents and a brother: David Coleman Spears.

4 Grandchildren: Grayson, Ashley, Parker, and Sydnee,
And numerous other family members and friends.
