Ray M. Murdock, 88, of Mcloud, Oklahoma died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at his home. Native American Services will be held Wednesday Evening at the home. Burial will be early Thursday morning at the Frye Family Cemetery. Ray M. Murdock was born on December 31, 1927 near Mcloud to Oliver and Mattie Frye Murdock. He attended Mcloud grade school in a one room school house north of Mcloud on Hazel Dell Road, Kickapoo School District 15. He later attended Jr High and High School in OKC and graduated from Classen High School. Ray joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served 3 years and served in World War II. He married Marlene (Thompson) and they were married for 64 years. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base as a Lead Shop Plant Service Mechanic after 33 years of service. Ray is a member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma and still spoke the Kickapoo Native Language. He is also an active member of the Native American Church, The Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma and The Kickapoo Elder’s Council. Ray was requested to give blessings at various functions, local and afar. He also spoke to the youth with words of positive encouragement to enhance their future. Ray would share his lifetime experiences whenever possible. Overall his life has been GREAT in the “GOOD OLD TOWN OF MCLOUD”. Ray is survived by his wife: Marlene Murdock of the home, 3 Children: Carolyn Hanratanagorn, Don Murdock, Marquetta Murdock, 28 Grandchildren, which includes great-grandchildren.
