Darla Jean Wood

Darla Jean Wood, 80, passed away May 31, 2016 in her home in Oklahoma City. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at Walker Funeral Chapel with Willie Points officiating. Burial will follow in Tecumseh Cemetery. Viewing will begin 8:00 a.m. Monday and continue thru service time. She was born January 11, 1936 in Chickasha, OK to Olivia Katharine Bozarth and Ernest Virgil Gurley. Following her graduation from Mustang High School in 1955 she attended Draughton School of Business. On September 5, 1959 she married Noel Eugene Wood. She was a member of the Mother Church, First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts; an active member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Midwest City, OK; a member of the Oklahoma Bluegrass Club, the Shawnee Gem and Mineral Club, and Oklahoma Gem and Mineral Society. She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Noel Eugene Wood, her parents, and a brother: Virgil Gurley. Survived by: Daughter: Leslie Ruffin Son: David Wood Grandchildren: Jenny Haliburton, Damian Wood, Jessica McGarvey and Faith Wood Great-Grandchildren: Jemma McGarvey, Zoe McGarvey, Jack McGarvey, Christopher Hewitt and Kaine Gibson Brother: Ray Gurley Sister-in-Law: Ina Lane Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews
