Services for Jim Hawk, 70, of Shawnee, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee with Ken Mendenhall officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Hawk died Monday June 6, 2016 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital. He was born September 17, 1945 in Heavener, Oklahoma to Howard and Loyce (Pitman) Hawk. He attended North Rock Creek School in Shawnee and graduated from Dale High School in 1963.
He lived almost his entire life in the Shawnee area and retired from Tinker Air Force Base at age 55 after approximately 35 years of service. His parents and grandparents were farmers and ran a dairy during his youth. After his retirement from Tinker, he continued his lifelong pursuit of farming until his death.
Survivors include his daughter and son, Jennie Heard of Shawnee and Rich Hawk and wife Holly of Norman; three grandchildren, Piper Heard of Shawnee, Adison Hawk of Norman, and Carson Hawk of Norman; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Barbara Hawk of Shawnee; and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.
