Bobby Gene Cook, 86, of Oklahoma City, passed away on June 28, 2016. He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma to James Noah and Lillian Cook on August 28, 1929. Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed OU Football, Thunder Basketball, and especially his golfing days. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He married Joy Elaine Cook, on January 23, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents James Noah and Lillian Cook, and brother, Byron Cook. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Cook, daughters Cheryl Anderson, Cathy Bishop, son-in-law Bob Bishop, son Michael Cook, and daughter-in-law Zana Cook, sisters-in-law Colleen Crawford, and Joy Marler, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee on Friday, July 1 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
