John "Billy" L. Green

Shawnee resident, John L. “Billy” Green, Jr., 67, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Oklahoma City. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church with Travis Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. He was born April 17, 1949 in Sumter, SC to John L. Green, Sr. & Dorothy “Frances” (Shirah) Green. He was a 1968 graduate of Shawnee High School. While in high school he worked at the Shawnee News-Star. From 1968 – 1970 he served with the United States Air Force in Vietnam. After his time of service he worked at Tinker Air Force Base. John was a carpenter by trade. On December 29, 1986 he married Patty Brooks. He loved to fish. He enjoyed leather working and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Green, Sr., sister-in-law: Kathy Green and a granddaughter: Emily Watlington. Survived by: Wife: Patty Green, of the home Children: Stephanie & Tim Shea of Salina; BJ Green of Shawnee; Misty Conover of Noble; John L. (Bo) & Braiden Green of Tecumseh; and Ronnie Williams of Seminole. Grandchildren: Brittany Wahpekeche; Dean Watlington; Melanie Watlington; Waylon Shea; Tristan Green; Megan Conover; Dylan Conover; Jayden Green; Jett Green; Hannah Williams; Connor Williams; Ethan Williams; Kylee Williams; and Jaxon Williams Great-Grandchildren: Madison; Ryleigh; Cadie; Zane; Preston; Paisley; Lincoln; Taylan and Tanion Mother: Frances & Raymond Ahlfield of Eufaula Brothers: Allen Green of Shawnee; Tracy & Norma Green of McLoud; and Gordon Green of Eufaula Sister: Brenda & Jack Mann of Elk Grove, CA Several nieces and nephews
