Judith Lee Childers-Kinnett Age 69, of Canton, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 17, 2016. She was born July 2, 1947 in Merced, California; daughter of Louis and Jewel (Barker) Saltzmon. She was united in marriage to Troy L. Kinnett on September 29, 1994; they spent over 20 years devoted to each other until his death in 2015. Judy made Shawnee, Oklahoma her home for over 30 years; she moved to Michigan to be with her family. Judy worked as an insurance agent for American General in Shawnee. Judy was the past President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Shawnee. She was a dedicated volunteer with Heartland Hospice for over 20 years. Judy loved meeting new people and learning about their lives; talking and listening were among her passions. Once you became Judy’s friend you were a friend for life. She lived for her children; they were her world. Judy is survived by her children, Chance (Franci) Childers and Alexis Childers; her grandsons Jacob and Joel Childers; her dear friend Paula who loved to make her beautiful; her nieces, Rhonda Watkins and Anita Brochu; her nephew, Billy Buckmaster; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Janet Buckmaster, and her brother-in-law Bill Buckmaster. A funeral service was held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Casterline Funeral Home, Northville, Michigan. Pastor Terry L. Cashmer from Christ the King Lutheran Church in Southgate officiated the service. A committal service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Pavilion at Resthaven Memorial Park, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK. Contributions would be appreciated to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 2802 North Kickapoo Ave., Shawnee, OK 74804.
