Carl Ray Steele was born August 15, 1941, and entered into the Lord’s presence July 22, 2016.
Carl was born in Prague, Oklahoma and resided in Meeker, Oklahoma his entire life. Carl Steele and Sue Danyeur were united in marriage on July 31, 1959. Carl worked at Safeway/Homeland in OKC for 20 years; he was a dairy farmer for many years. He raised hogs for several years and in his retirement tinkered with old cars. Carl had a multitude of friends from every walk of life and never met a stranger. Everyone loved him and knew him for his infectious smile. He enjoyed his loving family, fishing, tinkering with cars and most of all he loved and served the Lord. He also loved sharing and talking to others about the Lord.
Carl is survived by his wife Sue Steele, three children, Atoya & Raymond McDonald of Meeker, Jeff and Susan Steele of Meeker, and Angelia & Dennis Cobble of Okemah. Seven grandchildren Sherri McDonald, Heather and Clay Duggan, Jessica and Jonathan Wright, Erin McDonald, Stephen and Addison McDonald, Benjamin and Jeremiah Steele. Six great-grandchildren Colton, Trinity and Arial Duggan, Adriana and Leigha Wright and Tynslee McDonald, and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Steele, his mother Phenon and stepfather Kenneth Griffin, grandmother and grandfather Daucy & Frank Flowers, grandmother Vernie Johnson, father Carl Steele.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 at the Family of Faith Fellowship with Sam Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Meeker.
The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. to receive visitors.
