Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Prague Cemetery.
Judi was born March 21, 1938 to Charles Finley Gilbert and Ruth Elizabeth Johnson. She attended high school in Sweden. If she could have changed one thing she would have gone to college. She did go back to school and became an LPN at Shawnee Hospital in 1977.
On July 10, 1963 she married George Unterkircher, the most influential person in her life.
She loved animals and had 4 cats. She donated monthly to ASPCA, Alley Cat Allies, Noah’s Lost Ark, SPAR, Alzheimer’s, Salvation Army, and Hal Lindsey. Her hobbies included baking, knitting, gardening, cooking, skiing, working crossword puzzles and playing piano. She was inspired by snow, mountains and rainbows. She was passionate about the sea, flowers, and snow. According to Judi, raising her family was very rewarding and her greatest accomplishment. Her favorite family memory was living in Europe for 6 years. Birthdays were always huge celebrations to her, celebrating with cake and presents. She looked forward to Christmas, her favorite holiday.
Judi said, “If we could learn one thing from her, it would be to make many good friends and keep them, especially by joining a church. Be generous and always keep Jesus your number one focus. One doesn’t make it without Jesus and friends”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Roxanne Gilbert.
Survivors include: her husband, George Raymond Unterkircher,
Daughter: Roxanne Louise Sterling
Son: Darren Unterkircher
Six Grandchildren and Seven Great-Grandchildren.
