Barbara Ann Madden

Barbara Ann Madden, 82, of Shawnee, passed from this life Wednesday, August 17 at her home in Shawnee. She was born September 4, 1933, to Marion Raymond and Anna Evelyn McKey in Shawnee. She attended and graduated from Shawnee public schools. Barbara married Marion Jacob (MJ) Madden on June 10, 1954. MJ and Barbara lived in Tecumseh for 47 years before moving back to Shawnee. Barbara was a member of the Tecumseh Broadway United Methodist Church, as well as the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 30 in Tecumseh. She was employed by Sears, H & H Fashions in Tecumseh, and Diedra’s Shoes, along with being a homemaker raising 5 children. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Faye Blackstone and Mildred Ellis, four brothers, Bob, Charlie, Frances and Doc, and the love of her life, MJ Madden and a son, Mike Madden. She is survived by daughter Cindy Madden, daughter Cathy Hobbs and husband Gary, son MJ (Skip) Madden and wife Peggy, son Mickey Madden and friend Marcia, brother James and his wife Coletta, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20th in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.
