Tommy Scott Bentley, 77, of Shawnee, OK, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at his residence. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, from 5pm to 7pm at Walker Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Walker Funeral Service. Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Heavener Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, OK. Tommy Scott Bentley was born April 4, 1939 in Forester, Arkansas to Bethel and Oles Bentley. He graduated from Heavener High School and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from O.S.U. He worked for Firestone in Iowa before moving to Oklahoma where he retired from General Motors in 2002 as Chief Engineer of the Powerhouse. He served 4 years in the United States Navy as a maintenance engineer. On June 25, 1961 he married Carol (Gore). After her death in 1999, he married June Cunningham on September 10, 2000. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, crossword puzzles, repairing small engines, looking for his wild turkeys, and was a member of the Liars Club Morning Coffee and longstanding member of the Dale Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, 1 brother: Ronald Bentley, and a nephew: Jimmy Carty, Jr. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Sandra Thompson and husband Brad of Conroe, TX, Johanna Easterling and husband Ray of Shawnee, OK, 3 Grandchildren: Garrett Crouse of VA, Samantha Thompson of TX, Dawson Easterling of Shawnee, 3 Brothers: Kenneth Bentley and wife Carolyn of Poteau, Benny Bentley and wife Nancy of Heavener, Don Bentley and wife Dianna of Mesquite, TX, 3 Sisters: Sue Carty and husband Jim of TX, Linda Lockhart and husband Carl of Heavener, Jan Osburn and husband Roger of Stillwater, Numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, and companion: Mary Pinkston of Shawnee.
