Gladys Mae Spurgin

Gladys Mae Spurgin, 83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 at Tecumseh New Hope Cemetery. Gladys Mae Spurgin was born March 12, 1933 in Trousdale, Oklahoma to Willis & Bertha Williams. She married Don E. Spurgin on November 11, 1948. They were married 58 years, til his passing in 2007. Gladys loved to cook, but most especially bake. Her cinnamon rolls and homemade bread could rival any chef’s. She loved her family and big family get togethers. She had one sister, which was also one of her favorite shopping buddies. They loved to shop for clothes and antiques. She and her husband had been members of the Tecumseh Round-up Club and she had attended Bethel Methodist Church. Gladys will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Timothy Eugene Spurgin, a grandson: Timothy Eugene Spurgin Jr., 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Survived by: 2 Sons: Keith Spurgin and wife Jeri of Bethel, Steve Spurgin and wife Sandy of Shawnee, 7 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandson, And several other family members and friends.
