Minnie MaeBelle Pinkston

July 25, 1924 — October 11, 2016

Minnie MaeBelle Pinkston, 92, of Shawnee, OK, passed away Tuesday, October 11, at her home.  MaeBelle was born July 25, 1924 in Tecumseh, OK to James T. and Ada (Ward) Helton.  She resided in Shawnee, OK until she graduated from high school.  She lived briefly in California and then returned to Shawnee and married the love of her life, Lee Pinkston, on April 16, 1971.  They experienced numerous adventures and traveled many miles in their 5th wheel.  They visited 47 of 50 states and were at their south Texas getaway when he fell ill and passed on March 2, 1993.  She worked for Douglas Aviation, at Sylvania (until they closed), and retired as an electronics technician at Tinker AFB in June of 1986.  She wore many hats in her life: from the farm to the city, from worker to volunteer in many organizations.  She was indeed one of our “Greatest Generation”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; her sister Alma Leona Bonard, and her parents. She is survived by her sister Marie Leeper of Las Vegas, Nevada, her step-children Robert Pinkston and Sheila Ferris; numerous step grandchildren, extended family members and tons of friends. MaeBelle will be greatly missed by so many.  She was and is very loved and is now happy and well at Home.  Many thanks for all the love, friendship and support given to MaeBelle by everyone from Hospice at Loving Care.  She loved you all. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15 at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee.  Interment will follow in Blackburn Chapel Cemetery.
