David Franklin Little passed away Friday November 4, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, several siblings, a daughter Debra, and a grandson Jarrot. He is survived by his loving wife Wilma of the home, sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Connie Little, Bryan and Susan Little of Shawnee, grandchildren Matt Little of Dallas, Josh Little of Shawnee, Summer Little of Dallas and Grant Little of Norman. One brother Bill Little of Shawnee, sisters Chris Grider of Shawnee and Marietta Bass of Wagoner. David was born in Lockesburg, Arkansas to Otto and Goldie Little on November 29, 1926. He moved with his family to Wetumka, Oklahoma at the age of three where he lived and worked on the farm until he graduated high school. After high school he left home and learned the building trade from his Uncle Tommy Grant in Oklahoma City. In 1948 David married Wilma Fae Bryan and they eventually moved to Shawnee where they would make their home, raise their family and build a successful business. David established Shawnee Construction Company in the mid fifties. He developed subdivisions and built houses and projects all over town and across the state. One of David’s favorite pastimes was fishing. He and Wilma spent countless weekends at their cabin at Lake Eufaula. He also enjoyed many trips to Mexico and Canada where the fish were big and the stories even bigger! Wilma and David have been faithful church goers all their lives. Most recently they attended First Baptist Church Shawnee where they enjoyed the fellowship of the many friends they made there. David lived a long full life and those who knew him enjoyed the colorful stories he would tell about it! But nothing gave him more pride and pleasure than telling of his sixty eight year marriage to Wilma, the love of his life. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Services will be held at First Baptist Church Shawnee Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
