Alba Mae Ward, 97, of Meeker, Oklahoma died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in an Oklahoma City hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Meeker First Christian Church with Pastor James Whorton officiating.  Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, OK.    Alba Mae (Guinn) Ward was born in Lincoln County on April 21, 1919, to Samuel Burlin Guinn and Minnie Faye (Fowler) Guinn.  She was the firstborn of their seven children.  At the age of 13 she was baptized and became a member of the First Christian Church in Meeker. In 1941 she moved to Shawnee with her sister, Lillian, and worked at Harp’s Produce for about two years.  After working for Harp’s in Shawnee, she had the opportunity to go to work at Douglas Aircraft in Midwest City where she became an inspector.  She also attended night classes at Neff’s Business College, in Shawnee, while still employed at Douglas Aircraft. While working at Douglas, she met Troy Lee Ward, and they later married on March 30, 1945.  He preceded her in death on June 12, 1999. In 1948 they moved five miles south of Meeker, Oklahoma and started a dairy farm.  On July 9, 1948 their only child, Linda Darlene Ward was born.  They operated the dairy farm for approximately twenty-five years before selling the business in 1971. Alba Mae served as secretary of her Sunday school class for a number of years. She has been a faithful member of Meeker First Christian Church her entire life.  Her faith in God, her church and her family were a very important part of her life. She enjoyed working in her garden and growing tomatoes, which she loved to eat. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a granddaughter, Lori Michelle Case. Alba Mae is survived by her daughter, Linda Case and her husband Buddy of Meeker; a granddaughter and her husband, Lisa & Bryan Cook of Shawnee, and a great-grandson, Zachary Cook.  Sisters: JoAnn & Ken Dungan of Midwest City, and Lillian Lawson of Meeker; Brother: Roy Guinn & Elsie of Meeker., Sister-in-laws; Charlsie & Judy Guinn of Shawnee.
