Jo Ellen Watson

Jo Ellen Watson, age 81, passed away in her home surrounded by family on Monday, November 21, 2016. She was born on November 4, 1935 to Russell Hamilton Austin and Lula Florene Austin in Shawnee, OK.    She was a real estate broker and President of Jo Ellen, Inc.  Jo Ellen was president of the Shawnee Board of Realtors in 1974, County Government Chairperson in 1982, member of Shawnee Huddle II, member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, member of the Shawnee Homebuilders Association, politically active in local and state elections.  She loved her family, her church, to dance, to travel, and she loved Shawnee.  She is preceded in death by her parents - Russell and Florene Austin, her husband - Allan Jones, her daughter - Rhonda Kaye Ortiz, her brothers - Orville Austin and Donald Austin, and her sister - Nelda Lou Austin.  She is survived by her children - Dennis Watson, Vivian Corley (Ray), her grandchildren - Jasen Heatley (Crystal), Charity Heatley, Michael Heatley (Christina), Joe Corley, Billy Corley (Ashley), and Christine Zlotagura (Cameron), her great-grandchildren - Garrett Heatley, Justice Heatley, Sophia Heatley, Joey Heatley, Courtney Heatley, Micah Heatley, Jacob Heatley, Caitlin Corley, Ben Corley, Maya Corley, Lyllie Corley, Maddie Corley, Wyatt Corley, her brothers - Doyle Austin (Willadean), Dan Austin (Thyra), Terry Austin (Jeanne), Stanley Austin (Rhonda), her sisters - Janelle James, Cynthia Allen (Jim), and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral services to be held at Liberty Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
