Dora Mae Simon, 94 years old, left us on November 24, 2016, with her family by here side in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Born in 1922 in Malakoff, Texas, upon adulthood she married the love of her life, Leroy Simon, Sr. in 1947. From this holy union they raised eight beautiful children: Birdie Shaw (Charles), Leroy Simon, Jr. (Yolanda), Iva Nell Kiney (Jim), Luke Andrew Simon (deceased), Thessalonia Simon, Panita Simon Ingram (Paul), Agnes Lavern Norwood (Clavin), and Kathryn Kaye Graham (Ellis Eugene deceased)--all of which were born in Texas. Their primary focus was servicing the Lord and saving souls which later led them to relocate to Shawnee, Oklahoma by way of Frederick, Oklahoma.While she always put the Lord first in her life, some of her favorite things to do included: cooking, shopping and playing dominos with her friends. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her many grandchildren-Charles LaRoy Shaw, Derick Shaw, Bernard Simon, Jeffrey Webber, Rodney Lynn Simon, Greg Simon, Chasitie LeGail Ingram, Angela Kiney, Patrick Simon, Alexis Norwood, DeLimo Graham, LaTia Graham, Skylar Norwood and a host of great grandchildren--all of which cherished and adored her. In addition to the above mentioned family members, she is survived by one brother, Stovall Williams (Margaret) and one sister, Camilla Mitchell, both of Ft. Worth, Texas.She was a virtuous woman and quiet by nature. Her signature smile will be with us forever.Service will be Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Farrall Church of Christ, 25 East Farrall in Shawnee at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, Oklahoma. Brother Darryl Wingo will officiate.
