V. Leon Noss

V. Leon Noss, 85, passed away Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 at St. Anthony's - Shawnee   Leon was born in Porter, OK, on February 10th, 1931 to Clarence Howard Noss and Della Agnes (Hiner) Noss   Leon graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a B.A. in Hospital Administration. Leon helped create the Shawnee Health Care Authority in 1966 and opened the doors to Shawnee Medical Center Hospital. He served 25 years as Chief Executive Officer and President of Shawnee Regional Hospital. Leon didn't look at his experiences as a series of events as much as a continuum of human relationships.   Leon loved his family and friends, spending time on the golf course, manicuring his yard and traveling extensively.   He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother Joe Noss and step-son Derek Mankins   He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; sister-in-law, Dorothy Noss; daughters, LaTrelle (Denis) Mouton, Marcelle Noss; step children, Diana McBeth, Dawna (Dennis) Mills, Susan (Leon) Conkling, Don Steveson; grandchildren, Derek, Denis Jr. and Troy Mouton, Sean and Aarona Pichenson, Jennifer and Eric Dunkin, Shaun, Ryan, Logan and Colin Sullivan, Brandon, Barry and Kelley Conkling, Blake and Tiffany Steveson; 25 great-grandchildren and numerous others.   Services will be held at Walker Funeral Service on Friday, January 13th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.  Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society and Oklahoma Arthritis Foundation.
