Virgil D. "George" Scott, 74, of Shawnee, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Oklahoma City. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2017 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Jimmy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Virgil Dewayne “George” Scott was born February 22, 1942 in Kellyville, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Eloise Scott. He served in the United States Army as a combat engineer, was an expert rifleman, and received the Good Conduct Medal. He married Paulette (Sexton) on July 14, 1967. He worked as an expeditor for Fred Jones Companies for nearly 50 years. He enjoyed working, NASCAR, taking care of family and friends, and had a great sense on humor. He was preceded in death by his father. Survived by: 1 Son: Montia Scott and wife Xochitl of Henderson, N.C., 3 Grandchildren: Isaac Scott of Parris Island, S.C., Miranda Scott and Liam Scott both of Henderson, N.C., Mother: Eloise Braswell and husband Arnold of Shawnee, 3 Sisters: Sharon Sanders of Tecumseh, Trish Keeter and husband Chuck of South Lake, TX, Jeanette Musto of South Lake, TX, And several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
