Pauline Opal Roberson, 95, of Shawnee, died Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Shawnee. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole. Pauline was born January 4, 1922 near Claremore, Oklahoma to Cheslie and Lillie Rice. She graduated from Wolf High School and later attended Seminole Jr. College and Oklahoma Baptist University. On May 1, 1943 she married James R. Roberson in Mission, Texas, where he was finishing training in the Air Force and later went to England and was a pilot during the Normande Invasion. He was the son of Ernest and Myrtle (McGouirk) Roberson. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for First State Bank in Seminole and Bank First in Seminole and the Oklahoma Southern Baptist Convention. She enjoyed learning, reading, ministering to others, cooking, baking, gardening, and was an avid letter writer. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Immanuel Baptist Church Womens Missionary Union, and First Baptist Church Mission Group. Preceded in death by her Grandmother Orender, her parents, her husband, 2 sons: James E. Roberson and Charles R. Roberson, 1 sister: Muriel Rice, and 3 brothers: Cheslie Clayton Rice, J.D. Rice, and Curtis Rice. Survived by: 2 Children: David Allen Roberson of Tulsa, and Linda Roberson Lawyer of Shawnee; A Daughter-in-law: Marie Roberson of Edmond; 6 Grandchildren: Julie Penrod, John and Stacie Lawyer, Josh and Mandy Jo Roberson, B.J. and Maria Roberson, Dusty Roberson, Lindsay Lawyer and Marc Cox; 7 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Brother: Charles Rice and wife LaDonna of Stillwater, and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
