Carole Faye Lipe

August 30, 1934 — February 12, 2017

There is a celebration in heaven! Carole Faye Newton Lipe was called by the Lord on February 12, 2017, at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Friends and family are welcome to share in our Memorial at Walker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Building Fund at Immanuel. She was lovingly named "Kaka" by her first grandchild, and that became her nickname to all. She blessed each and every person she met. Her love, admiration  and  compassion  for  uniqueness,  creativity  and  individuality  was unmatched. Everyone who knew her felt blessed. Born in Kingston, Oklahoma on August 30, 1934, to Ray and Mildred Newton, she was the only daughter of five and was doted on by her grandmother, Addie Newton. Her brothers affectionately called her "Mother Faye." A graduate of Holdenville High School, she was a member of the A Cappella Choir and the Elkette Drill Team. She was honored as runner up for Football and Band Homecoming Queen. She loved drama and had roles in several plays as she truly enjoyed theatre. Carole married Mickey Lipe and shared five beautiful children with him. She considered Shawnee, Oklahoma, her primary residence, although she lived in California, Kansas and Illinois. She later married the love of her life, Donald Duggan. Her grandchildren spent many summers with her where they made recorded videos of various skits, plays and dances. She had a fondness and appreciation for music and the arts, which came naturally. Her mother played piano and wrote music and her father was an artist. Carole played piano and taught duets to her children and grandchildren. Carole was a long-time member of Baptist Church where she served as Secretary of BC's senior group, time and Talent. She was also involved with Vacation Bible School, the Easter Egg Hunt and Trunk or Treat. She served in Shawnee Junior Service League and was cast in several plays with Shawnee Little Theatre. She wrote many poems for friends and family. Her ability to spontaneously compose limericks touched everyone she knew and will be forever cherished. Carole is preceded in death by her parents Ray Howard Newton and Mildred Ramona Newton; her brothers Beecher May and Will Newton; her grand daughter Laura McGuffee Adcock; and her second husband Donald Duggan. She is survived by her first husband Mickey Lipe; her children Ramona Scrutchins, Belinda  Hobbs, Mark  Lipe, Lisa  Gillaspy, Laura  Stepp, and  their  spouses; her grandchildren  Kris McGuffee, Melissa  Lipe, Mathew  Lipe, Anthony  Lipe, Dustin Hobbs,  Derek Gillaspy, Brent Gillaspy, Lindsay Gillaspy, Luke Stepp, Jake Stepp, Jennica  Stepp, and their spouses; her great-grandchildren Austin Couch, Taylor Couch, Naomie McGuffee,  Kaitlyn McGuffee, Nicole Adcock, Khloee Stepp, River Barrow, and Molly Denstitt; her brothers Joe Newton, Jessie Newton and their families. Carole bravely and often cheerfully battled Melanoma for four years. Playing cards in the Chemotherapy Lab, she always had a smile on her face. She exhibited grace, wisdom, strength and a love for Jesus throughout her battle.
