Edith Brown,  83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 in an Oklahoma City hospital.Services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at  Walker Funeral Chapel with Pastors Danny & Michelle Webb officiating.  Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Newalla.   Edith Brown was born November 13, 1933 in Panama, Oklahoma to Charles Claude & Mary Stephens.  She graduated from Panama High School.  Edith worked as a receptionist at a parts company.  On September 30, 1953 she married Walter Carol Brown.  They were married 56 years.   They lived together in various places, including Germany.  In 1968 they moved to Houston, Texas, where she lived until 2014, when she moved back to Oklahoma to be with her family.  She lived in Legacy Park, Shawnee, until her death.  She enjoyed being with family and friends.  She will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 sisters: Nettie and Catherine Stephens, 1 brother: Charles Ray Stephens. She is survived by her children, who were her nieces and nephews, Carol & Tom Barnes of McLoud, Dale Ann Messner of Harjo, and Phillip Charles Zanola, and 3 that preceded her:  Sherry Ennis, Claudia Kaye Ficklin and Kathy Zanola. She had many other grand nieces and nephews.
