Shawnee resident, Rex Odus Stubbs, 89, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in Oklahoma City. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2017 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Rex Odus Stubbs was born July 7, 1927 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Grady Odus Stubbs and Marie (Chesser) Stubbs. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1945. He married Mary Jo (Taylor) and they were married for 51 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Mr. Stubbs owned and operated his own business where he manufactured, sold and distributed lamps across numerous states. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother: Charles Stubbs, Sr., and a sister: Dorothy McElroy. Survived by: 3 Children: Marion Matlock and husband John of MWC, Stewart Stubbs and wife Deni of OKC, Alison Dunaway and husband Joe of OKC; 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren, as well as 1 Brother: Connie Mack Stubbs of Shawnee, and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
