Robert Christopher Wilkerson, better known as “Raz”, was born October 12, 1939 in Rossville, OK. He departed this life on March 6, 2017 at his home at the age of 77. He was a professional painter and retired from the state capitol following 25 years of service. His painting and furniture refinishing talents were demonstrated in the state capitol and requested by many governors and first ladies of the state. After retirement, he continued residential painting in the Meeker area for many friends and family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish with his son, grandsons, son-in-law and friends. His preferred fishing companion was his wife of over 47 years, Louise Caroline Wilkerson. Her exceptional cooking, sewing and quilt making made him very proud. Raz was the son of Warner and Muriel Wilkerson and was a lifelong resident of Meeker. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Johnnie Ray Markwell, Jerry Wilkerson, Billy Wilkerson and wife Marie, and his sisters Learline Bowen and her husband Gilmer, Geraldine Kimbley and husband Wayne. Brothers-in-law Oriel “Monk” Ward and Tommy Bowen. Raz is survived by his Wife: Louise Wilkerson of Meeker, Daughter: Krista Shannon and husband David of Tecumseh, Son: Mark Wilkerson and wife Shari of Meeker, Grandsons: Paul and Kyle Shannon, Christopher Wilkerson and his son Bladen, One and only Granddaughter: Ashley Jordan and husband Jeff, and their son Westin, Brother: Jimmy Wilkerson and wife Linda of Kansas, Sisters: Leota Ward and Bobbie Bowen, Sister-in-law: Judy Wilkerson, Along with many other family members and close friends. The family will be at Walker Funeral Service on Wednesday from 6 to 8pm to receive friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Meeker First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
