Charles Harold Dawson, 76, of Shawnee, died Friday, March 10, 2017 in Shawnee.The family will be at Walker Funeral Service on Sunday from 2pm to 3pm to receive friends. Graveside services will be 10:00am Monday, March 13, 2017 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Charles Harold Dawson was born September 1, 1940 in Wanette, Oklahoma to Fayne and Lois Dawson. He moved to Shawnee in 1947 and attended Shawnee Public Schools and graduated in 1958. He attended OSU and graduated from OBU in 1960 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration. He married Joan Kay (McIntire) on August 7, 1965. They had 2 sons, Charles Scott and Stephen Fayne. He owned Dawson Lumber Co. which he purchased in 1966. He was a member of Composite Lodge 107, Scottish rite, India Temple. He enjoyed cars and motorcycles, old and custom, owning several in his life, and collected die cast models for 30 plus years, and collecting antiques. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 48 years, Joan, and in-laws R.L. and Viola McIntire. Survivors include 2 Sons: Scott Dawson and wife Lisa, Stephen Dawson and wife Amanda, 2 Granddaughters: Alyssa Chase and Makenzie Lynn, Sister Jean Ison and husband Lee of MWC, And several other family members and friends.
