Alice Irene Cox passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Meeker, Oklahoma at the age of 94. She was born in Maysville, Oklahoma on April 12, 1928 to James Baxter and Elsie May Nichols.
Alice had many occupations and lived in several states throughout her life. She was a talented florist, artist and cook, loved to travel, going to the casino and was always up for an adventure. From cooking for ranch hands in Utah and at a lakeside café near Eufaula, Oklahoma, she retired after working as a manager for storage facilities and apartments in the Tulsa area.
Alice was known for her paintings, quilt making and laughter. Almost every family member has some of her art work and needle work. She loved to cook for company and looked forward to family gatherings. She attended Grace Lutheran Church in Tulsa, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ethel Peters, Frances Dickinson, Betty Jo Compton, and Waunita Nichols; brothers, Frankie Nichols, Bud Nichols, and James Nichols; her youngest daughter, Janis Irene (Roberson) Eschenbacher; her husband of 23 years, Leonard D Roberson; and her husband of 24 years, Arthur Cox.
Survivors include her sisters, Patricia Foxen and husband Bob of Paden, OK and Janie Peters and husband Jim of Blackwell, TX; brother, Rex Nichols and wife Elizabeth of South Dakota; daughter, Rosie Mae (Roberson) Jennings and husband Daniel of Prague, OK; son, Leonard "Dee" Roberson and wife Elaine of GA; grandchildren, Brad Jennings and fiancé LaMonica of Tulsa, OK, Brian Jennings and wife Jenni of Montana, Lenny Gerlock and wife Joanne of Missouri, Jodi Remington and husband Pete of Michigan, Kris Archer and husband Patrick of Michigan, and Adam Smith of Missouri; great-grandchildren, Hope Archer, Jonathan Archer, Peter Remington, and Henry Remington of Michigan, Spencer Jennings, Bailey Jennings, Bridget Jennings and Shelby Smith of Tulsa, OK, Haden Jennings, and Taylor Jennings of Montana, and Adam Smith of Missouri; plus numerous nieces and nephews in Washington, South Dakota, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alaska, Texas, California, Minnesota, Idaho, Wyoming, Tennessee, and American Samoa.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the family home (356575 E 990 Rd Prague, OK).
