Anita C. Davis

June 5, 1945 — May 18, 2017

Shawnee resident, Anita C. Davis, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 18, 2017. Anita was a member of Dale Baptist Church. She was born on June 5th, 1945 in Little Axe, Oklahoma to Granville and Frankie Richmond. Anita graduated from Norman High School. Besides being a homemaker, Anita worked in several different occupations including Loomis Armored and Shawnee Medical Center. In 1986, Anita met the love of her life, Bill Davis, who she married on November 28, 1986. From this union Anita instantly acquired children and grandchildren that grew to love her as their own Mother and grandmother. Anita loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Anita and Bill regularly attended and played together at gospel singings where they were able to share their love for the Lord.Anita was a devoted wife and friend to Bill through their 29 years of marriage. When thinking of Anita this Bible verse comes to mind. Proverbs 31:10-12 "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." Anita was always busy, she was either cooking, sewing or she could be found out in her garden. She was a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Anita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billie Hoyt Davis and 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Anita is survived by her loving nephew Kevin Welchel and great nephew Hunter Welchel both of Newalla, son Jay Hoyt Davis and wife, Stephannie of Shawnee; and three daughters: Melinda Kinney and husband, John of Mooreland, Lorri Davis of Edmond, and Elizabeth Wilkins and husband, Scott of Shawnee; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Davis of Shawnee, Jeremiah Davis and wife, Misty of Shawnee, Stephen McAllister and wife Michelle of Oklahoma City, Erryn Bryce of Shawnee, Katy Wood and husband Zach of Ft. Worth, Elizabeth Stidham and husband Scott of Sapulpa, Jennica Kenny and husband Jeff of Woodward, Joe D. Pittman, Kari Pittman and Jesse Pittman of Edmond, Caleb Wilkins and wife Megan of Norman, Bethany Wilkins of Edmond; 11 great grandchildren, and other family and friends.
