Anita Gail Jones, age 81, went to her Heavenly rest on January 25, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Child of God, faithful wife, blessed mother, wonderful grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Anita was a resident of McLoud and a blessing to all who knew her. Anita was born at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa on October 26, 1939, to the late Robert William and Jessie Catherine Randell (nee Gough). She graduated from Central High School, Tulsa, in 1957, attended Oklahoma Baptist University and was wed to Reverend Donald B. Jones on June 14, 1959. They were married for over 61 years, separated only by death, and she was Don’s true companion in life and pastoral ministry. She also worked in a variety of secretarial positions and was a talented seamstress, soloist and musician, playing and teaching piano, directing children and youth choirs, and singing for over 30 years with the Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma. Anita is survived by her husband of the home, Don B. Jones; a sister, Donna Johnson, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; children, daughter Dr. Susan and Bob Willis of Claremore, son Doug and Jana Jones of Arlington, Texas, son Rob Jones of Ada; grandchildren, Jennifer Payne, Amy Royer and husband Andrew Royer, D. Graham Jones and wife Bethany Jones, Audra Jones, Olivia Jones, Alyssa Jones; great-grandchildren Everett and Emery Royer. Funeral services for Anita will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2021, at Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee conducted by Rev. Clint Dawkins and Griff Henderson. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester, at 2:00 p.m. The family will be at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Thursday to visit with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, feel free to contribute to the Donald B. and Anita Jones Endowed Scholarship at Oklahoma Baptist University.
