Ann Bivins

Ann Bivins, 79, of Shawnee, died Thursday, September 17, 2020 in a local nursing center. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 21 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Robert Prater officiating. Burial will follow in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Ann was born on July 19, 1941 in Asher, Oklahoma to James Russell Knight and Lillie-Belle Johnston. She lived in the Shawnee area most of her life after graduating from Asher High School. On March 30, 1962 she married Robert (Bob) Bivins, and they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage together. They were members of the Central Church of Christ located at 10th and Bell in Shawnee. In addition to being a loving mother to three kids, she was a pivotal part in opening and managing the family business’s with her husband – Bivins Office & Bank Supply, Inc, Bivins Music and The Shirt Shack which they ran together for 25 years before retiring.

Ann later took on a few additional jobs, one of those being Secretary at the church they attended. Survivors include her son Stephen of Dallas, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Brian Heldenbrand of Midwest City, 4 grandchildren; Logan Heldenbrand and his wife Mandy, Hollie Bishop and her husband Tyler; Bryce Palmer and Mason Palmer and their mother Annisa Palmer of Konawa; brother-in-law and his wife Bernard and June Sharp of Shawnee along with several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
