Bette Jean Newell

Bette Jean Newell passed to a better life on April 9, 2018. Bette was born on April 9, 1927 to Edwin F. Mallory and Dorothy Mallory, in Shawnee, Ok. On March 17, 1946, she married Richard C. Newell in Shawnee, Ok. To this union 2 children were born: Richard C. Newell, Jr. and Rhonda Jean Newell (deceased). Those that preceded her were her husband, Richard C. Newell, Sr., daughter, Rhonda Newell, Stepfather and Mother, Carl McGinnis and Dorothye, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Also 4 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law. Survivors are son Richard C. Newell and wife Charlott Kay, granddaughter Sue Anna (Susie) Roberts and spouse Kevin Roberts, great grandsons Tony Newell, and Alex Ferrell, and his 2 daughters, Dale and Sherrie Tipken, Ryan and Sommer Yancey, all of Shawnee. Also surviving are Raymond Newell and wife Pat of Seminole, plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Bette was a member of the Seminole Church of Christ and Thompson Heights Church of Christ, Shawnee. For several years Bette was a member of the Seminole County Extension Club, and was a volunteer of Heartland Homehealth and Hospice. The Family wishes to thank Heartland for all the care provided for Bette. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park with Terry Newell and Ray Newell officiating.
