Billie June Griggs

Billie June (Kingery) Griggs, 91, of Shawnee, died Thursday, March 18, 2021 in a McLoud nursing home. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Dale Cemetery with Doug Parker officiating, under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Billie was born August 20, 1929 in McLoud, Oklahoma to Wallace & Daisy Mae (Abrams) Steward. She attended Hazel Dell schools and Dale High School. She was a homemaker, and married James Vernon Kingery in 1946. She later married Robert “Bobby” Griggs on October 3, 1972. She lived in the McLoud area all of her life and was a member of the Baptist church. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, daughter & son-in-law: Eva & Billy Canada; 3 brothers: Earnest, Clarence and Bert Steward; 2 sisters: Bonnie & Irene Steward, and a grandson: Allan Canada She is survived by 2 Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Bobby & Cindy Kingery, and Wayne & Cheryl Griggs – all of Shawnee Daughter & Son-in-Law: Phyllis & Keith Brister of Spring, TX 2 Sisters: Edna Odom and Bessie Belcher 2 Brothers: Wayne Steward and Jim Steward 8 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
