Billy Dwayne Bland, 76, of Shawnee, OK, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Norman, OKFuneral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Sparks. Burial will follow in Holdenville Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Friday evening 5-7 pm to receive visitors. Billy Dwayne Bland was born January 5, 1941 in Holdenville, OK to W.E. “Bill” and Edva Bland. He graduated from Wewoka High School. Billy worked at Tinker for 32 years, retiring as a machinist. He also raised cattle, enjoyed going to Branson, MO, and he and Ouida enjoyed fishing with Dwayne and Mindy at Lake Eufaula and deer hunting with Dwayne at Uncle Don and Aunt Nina's farm. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and visiting with friends. He and Ouida were married 49 years, and 8 months. He was preceded in death by his parents. Billy is survived by his wife Ouida, and his dog, Pup, of the home; Son & Daughter-in-Law: Dwayne & Mindy Bland of Bethel Acres; Son: Kevin Bland of Euless, TX; Brothers: Bobby Bland and his wife Carol of Maud, Jimmy Bland of Choctaw; Sisters: Linda Horn of Choctaw, Lou Mullings and her husband Wayne of Maud, Patty Bland of Seminole, Peggy Huff and her husband Eugene of Choctaw, Charlotte Gregory and her husband Tony of Newalla, Pam Goodin and her husband Jimmy of Davis; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family members.
