Billye F. Threlkeld, 89, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 2, in Shawnee, OK. She was born on February 16, 1930 in Rudy, Arkansas to Seaborn and Ruth Bryan. Billye graduated from Van Buren High School at the age of 16 and then attended business school. She married Samuel Threlkeld on June 30, 1948 at her parent’s home in Van Buren, Arkansas. After moving with their logging business, they settled in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, and also worked part-time at Sears. She loved reading, sewing, spending time at the lake and traveling with her husband on their motorcycles. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends very much. She always had a kind word and a bright smile for everyone, and would tell everyone she met, “I am blessed”. Billye touched many hearts and will be deeply missed by everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and son-in-law. Survivors include her loving family, Connie, Robert, Billy, Lindsey, Steve and Glee, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Liberty Baptist Church with Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
