Bobby Donald Wood

Bobby Donald Wood went to his heavenly home July 4, 2021. He was born October 27, 1933 in Snyder, TX to Elmer Cecil Wood and Wilma Ethel Martin Wood. His mother died at the age of 22 and Bob was raised by the Martin’s in Hope, AR. Bob married Roberta Ruyle Mikes July 30, 1976. Bob was a 1952 graduate of Spring Hill High School joining the Navy in June 1952 serving aboard the USS Shangri La Aircraft Carrier as Petty Officer 2nd Class. He worked 35 years at Tinker AFB as a Logistics Management Specialist retiring in 1988. Bob came to know the Lord as a young man actively serving in several churches most recently New Life Baptist Church. Bob loved camping, golf, game shows, sports, Branson and ice cream. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by children Carla Manning, Paul Wood & wife Kim, Shalisa Buley & husband Jerrel, Greg Mikes and wife Cheryl, Doug Mikes & wife Paula, and Glen Mikes and many grand and great grand children as well as a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Roberta, his parents and brother John Wayne Wood. Service is Monday, July 12, 2021 - 10:00 am Walker Funeral Service Chapel Shawnee, OK. Burial following at Dale Cemetery. Family visitation is Sunday July 11 from 3-5:00 pm Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee, OK.
