Brenice A. Poe

Brenice A. Poe, 91, of Shawnee, passed away June 15, 2018 in Shawnee.Brenice was born October 15, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Edna & Ezra Treece. She attended Monroe College of Optometry and was a practicing optometrist in Illinois for 50 years. After retiring she moved to Shawnee to help her daughter, Martye McCall, in her health food store, Good Earth Nutrition Center, for the next 14 years, after which she retired a second time. She was a longtime volunteer at Clare House in Bloomington, IL. After moving to Oklahoma in 1996 she enjoyed the activities at the Shawnee Senior Center and the Sunlight Club at St. John’s Lutheran Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Poe, three sisters, and a grandson, Wade Brown.Brenice is survived by her daughter, Martye McCall, a grandson, Ben Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.There were no services held.
